Immediately behind the dance floor and the DJ playing the live music is the installation called #Aperture

The sense of play and interactivity is present throughout the #DarlingHarbour #VividSydney installations. This installation is where last year's massive #AmigoAndAmigo chess set was.

Here is the chess set from last year, called #Checkmate

That was a fun installation as people tried to move these giant pieces around! Or actually bumped into them more like.

The art installation is by Atelier Sisu which is Sydney-based.

They say they were inspired by some of the natural landmarks of the city...I say it looks like Swiss cheese to me. 🧀

The lights do change in this installation - it's a blown-up giant castle but no turrets and people don't go round bouncing off the walls.

There are security guards present.

It's a wondrous installation with the changing lights...like how Mondrian would have built a giant bouncing castle.

Here is what it looks like facing west towards the Convention centre. It is bigger than it looks especially when you enter.

There is audio accompanying this installation, with what sounds like noises inspired by going through Jenolan Caves.

But, truth be told, the "dramatic" sounds are overwhelmed by the salsa music from the dance floor next door.

I was tempted to climb through one of the tunnels but sanity prevailed...

And everyone had the same idea of capturing their moment of going through the Aperture...

Didn't get there this year, but it was a great experience when I did.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. Last year's was pretty good too but there seems to be more and more installations every year. I took more care in planning this year so definitely weeknights for me!
