I was not there but my 4 yr old was not having it as his peds checkup today when they tried to get his blood pressure.
Nurse to my wife: You know eventually you will have to be tough on him so we can get this.
Get the fuck out of peds nursing right now.

I'm betting that person was not a nurse. Always ask, especially if something like that is said to a parent. Lots of medical providers/offices call clinical support people nurses when they're not.

My wife spent 10 years working in healthcare as a patient tech. It was def the nurse.

She may be right, but most medical offices don't employ nurses (RN) because of cost. Usually LPN if they do. I have LPN who is amazing and an amazing Medical Assistant and neither would say that to a parent. I'd report the incident asap. It's a problem, especially in peds office.
