#SmallChurchPastorLife today: Buying groceries and cold medicine for a sick mom who doesn't have transportation and shouldn't be leaving her house anyway. I know it's common to picture pastors in the current Ted Talk Speaker / Mega-Church imagery, but that's just not the reality for many of us.

I could go on a long rant about how mega-church pastors aren't actually pastors, at least not in the sense that most Christians need...But I'll just say, this is how you do it right. Good on you, sir!

Thanks, Blake. We could probably rant together for a good long time...

Better for the soul not to, I suspect. That leaves trying to authenticate my belief on the matter via the troublesome avenue of lived action.

Pastoral care is such a gift. I have deep affection for those who can demonstrate care deeply and directly. I love a good message, but pastoral care moves me. It is not my strength and I admire those who can care with service.

*Whispering* It's not my strength either... It's just the right thing to do, bumbling my way through it.
