I like how it starts, but then the writer gets bogged down with peripheral stuff. He also seems to have a really narrow idea of what social media is or can be. But I did enjoy the read -- most of it.

The author lost me at the last 2 paragraph mark....and yeah he was on a roll and then went down the road of like he needs conflict and siloism in order to feel alive...I dont like that outsiders keep insisting that we live in an echo chamber and or a silo...I AM OFFENDED by that thinking...

Likewise! Hearing more from fascists and bigots isn't gonna make a good place out of any social media platform. And I think you hit the nail on the head about some journalists' need for conflict -- it makes for good clickbait.
