Half-Canadian & 83-yo mom still lives there. As pay-to-play as the US system is—and as grateful as I am to be able to afford it—as a cancer survivor, I would not move to Can. (Six mos to see an oncologist?) The French competition of private & state care seems a more balanced, patient-serving system.

Respectfully this is one of the biggest myths perpetuated. During COVID, my father in law was into see the oncologist 1 day after a concern and 2 days later, getting chemotherapy.
This is not the exception but normal.
Costs out of his pockets for treatment - nothing.
