People talk about healing after mass shootings like the one at #MichiganStateUniversity last night, but let me tell you something. It’s the 5-year anniversary of the #Parkland shooting. I live near Parkland and used to drive past the school a few times a week. 1/3

When the notification went out about an active shooter—we didn’t know which school because they locked all schools in the area down at first. As the details came out, our community was absolutely devastated & shaken to the core. 2/3

Now, when we get that call about a threat made to a school or see an increased presence of LEOs—it sets us on edge. We’ll never fully recover, especially since our government allows gun lobbyists to buy their allegiance and compliance. It’s a disgusting betrayal. 3/3

I think about what your saying, I hear you

As a person who never personally experienced a shooting and doesn't know someone who did, I feel shocked/overwhelmed/angry/scared/triggered every time

How do those that have deal with this level of trauma?
How does any child in any school cope?
