Ingolfsson, too, does not put romantic pieces like the early Scherzo in C minor by Brahms under expressive strong current, but differentiates in volume and tempo in a small space. One thinks one can imagine Bronisław Huberman, the later champion of an Israel Philharmonic Orchestra,

himself playing a classical Andante by Beethoven as a century-old violinist, but also a highly virtuosic Paganini Caprice. The spiritually penetrating playing of Ingolfsson and Stoupel makes such mental time-travel possible.
