Yes, this is true. I have discussed this in a previous thread about third parties. The UK/Canada are able to get away with it with multiple parties. The USA is not set up as a parliamentary system.

I notice all too often, folks point to Canada having several viable parties.
This is due to one thing.
Canada is a parliamentary democracy
The US system is entirely different, and 3rd parties are simply spoilers. Period.

I've been preaching the NO 3RD PARTY OR 2ND TIER CANDIDATE message for months here and elsewhere. I must sound like a broken record, but I'm going to keep at until election day. We've had Nader play spoiler in 2000 and Stein in 2016. We can't afford a 2024 spoiler, we'll become an autocratic state .
