The Transportation Secretary does not oversee the NTSB nor the EPA, which are leading the response because that is THEIR job.

This is like being mad that the Sec of Education isn’t giving press conferences on the derailment.

You’re not “holding them accountable,” you’re showing your ignorance.

This is a #StrawMan argument! Ntsb/EPA are investigating, BUT the transportation department REGULATES through safety rules the operation of TRAINS. OBAMA put in a safety rule promoting new braking tech, TRUMP nixed it, and now Sec. Pete won't reinstate it. The brakes used are from Civil War times!

This is wholly false.

The rule was repealed by an act of Congress.

Cabinet secretaries cannot overrule laws passed by Congress.

Why are you so poorly informed? Or…are you knowingly spreading misinformation?

Please cite where the rule was repealed by Congress. I have looked, but cannot find it.

It was repealed using the FAST Act, which is congressional legislation and not an EO or agency rule change.

That article says it was "rolled back" by the Trump "Department of Transportation". Nothing about Congress.

It was repealed using the FAST Act, which said that if two studies show costs outweighed benefits of the rule, it would be rescinded.

Here’s the bill.

I’m done doing your work for you now.
