I’m a customer service agent who makes about $15 an hour. I’m required to take an annual training course and sign a statement that I won’t accept extravagant gifts from vendors & I am absolutely livid that I’m held to a higher standard than a Supreme Court Justice.

I'm a volunteer with hospice and I absolutely cannot accept gifts. I haven't been allowed to accept gifts in any paid occupation I've ever worked and my career path has been widely varied.

Same! I take a mandatory ethics training annually and cannot accept gifts of any cumulative value over $50. It is spectacularly irresponsible for Supreme Court justices to take advantage of their power and taint their judicial independence. But what do I know? I’m just a teacher.

I am a federal government employee and the gift amount between co-workers is $10 max. Nothing from vendors. Yes, we are held to a higher standard.

All federal civil service employees are also held to very high ethical standards and we take annual training as well. Ironic isn't it?

Many of us working for companies also have to sign these statements, called “ethics”!
