I usually avoid politics online because talking politics is primarily all I do in the flesh. I don't back away from sex or religion either. In many ways, it pays to be agnostic though I grew up in a deeply religious family. I've seen and heard it all on the deity front.

i keep seeing a LOT of discussion about maybe not talking about politics with people anymore.

the old saying "don't talk about politics, sex, or religion".

yeah, no thanks. i'd rather know that the people i spend my time with aren't awful bigots behind closed doors.

Interesting spout I am grapling with this myself. So while I stay away from spouting political religious posts I agree it's good to know who to avoid getting into a debate with that won't go anywhere. Sadly Spoutible is flooded with American politics the very reason I have become turned off by bird

I scroll right in by most of those posts even when I agree with them. I'm always happiest when someone posts something like an obscure thing that happened to them on the way to the grocery store or to throw out the trash.
