IMO, and this is all pure speculation, this event reveals one of two things: either 1) Prigozhin is more of a lunatic than he already seemed, or 2) Putin is far weaker inside Russia than the world grasps and Prigozhin knows this.

I just don't get Prigozhin's play, he has to know this kind of betrayal of Putin won't end with him falling out a window, he will suffer, polonium poisoning kind of suffering, Prigozhin has to know this, his men if not shot on sight after being demobilized will be used as cannon fodder in Ukraine.
