Why is the entirety of the US West and Southwest NOT! collecting every drop of water thrown away everywhere a sink is located? Everywhere a kitchen is located? For reclamation. For reuse. For humanity's sake... and I'm speaking about every other water molecule besides rainwater...

This is such a great and timely question-we need to reclaim all gray water for:
Flushing the toilet (from vanity sink drain and/or shower)
Water raised flower beds/xeriscapes.
Not enough room for design particulars but the only water we should be treating is Black water. Reuse the rest!

Converting housing, office buildings etc. to such a system would be costly. Best way to get started is requiring new construction to be water efficient. I do have concerns about grey water laden with chemicals from all our health/beauty products. That stuff does not break down easily.

I agree with new construction 100% but I still think that gray water could flush the toilet. We don’t need potable water doing that. And the other gray water watering above grade or raised bed flowers could filter those chemicals before they hit the water table.
