RSS Feeds.

This being the 10th anniversary of Google's inglorious shuttering of Google Reader has me thinking about RSS. We have very robust RSS feeds at CoffeeGeek; every section has a dedicated /feed and the site wide feed is at

In this day and age, with paywalled websites, twitter search completely broken by Elon, Google search completely broken with spammy ads ranked up top, forced algorithms that never give you the content you're seeking, RSS remains the best way to find actual content you're interested in.

I was a dedicated Google Reader user. I had well managed and maintained RSS feeds for all the top coffee and espresso news sites in 2013, and I migrated those over to Feedly, the app I have used since for RSS. I update my RSS feeds often, so it is my first stop every AM for timely coffee news.

We maintain robust RSS feeds on CoffeeGeek.

The main site for all content is https://coffeegeek.com/rss

But if you just want to feed our blog, https://coffeegeek.com/blo... gets you that. Our reviews? https://coffeegeek.com/rev...

And so on.

I feel many people who have only known the Internet for about 10 years or so, growing up with Instagram. Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, etc have no clue about RSS feeds. Maybe I'm wrong on that.

But everyone should know about RSS feeds. Today, it's the most pure way to get content you want.

So if you don't know what an RSS feed is, what an RSS Feed reader is, check it out today. Almost every website has an RSS feed. It's built into the core of Wordpress, for example. Aggregate and discover content on your own terms, not some company's forced algorithm or skewed search results.
