My late husband used to wear ear plugs on the 4th. For years, he couldn't watch the fireworks if we were close enough to hear the mortars that fired them. One year, we tried to take our girls to watch the city's display & had to leave because of his reactions to hearing the mortars.

Thank you. We aren’t and my poodle is ok but it has been ridiculous this past week. What really gets me one of the culprits has only lived here about 5 years and grew up in The Philippines

It's hell here in Indy for a solid month and the "We love the troops!" people don't care. It literally sounds like a war zone.
