In America, most of us are one Very Bad Day away from our lives entirely collapsing due to some kind of financial burden or mishap.

Having already fallen over that cliff doesn't say anything about your value as, like, a human being.

We have GOT to get away from the idea that if you’re poor, or homeless, that you somehow “deserve “ it.

My husband & I were laid off within months of each other in 2010 (a delayed ripple effect from #theGreatRecession fyvm).

A #TARP loan saved us. He’s a teacher so he wasn’t able to get a new job right away cause #music & #arts always get cut.

But we got by. Thanks to the #Democrats of course.

That is very scary! Glad to hear you were able to manage through it.

I have a good job now, but for various reasons am lagging on savings, I am actually doing pretty okay .. as long as nothing happens O_o

And to your second point, #GenX has bounced back better, economically, from both recessions, than any other group.

We lost the most home equity 15 years ago, but we built our wealth back the quickest.

Cause we’re bad mfkas 💪🤘

So yeah, most of us are a bit behind, but we’ve kicked ass really

Lol, thankfully we’re talented, scrappy hustlers 😉

My husband joined this kick ass 70s/80s rock band in the #Denver area, and I’m a math geek, I’ll always get by.

Although at the time, I was PISSED at my layoff circumstances, so I decided I wasn’t gonna do that kind of shit anymore 🤷‍♀️🖕
