I just can’t believe the complete and utter lack of empathy they had for this poor child and the goat she loved. Do they root for the bad guys in the movies? Because they are the villains in this situation.

Nashville is a nice city - or at least used to be. I don't live there, but sadly the Republicans in the state have taken control away from the Democratic majority there. The blue bubble is no longer a safe haven from right wing policies.

Probably not in gun country. I went to a wedding in Nashville where a highlight of the evening was unveiling and displaying the groom's new gun. I can't imagine that was his only gun.

The funny thing is, DeSantis' own general counsel gave a pretty good definition when questioned under oath: “The belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them.” Quite telling.

I think it's probably a morning person vs night person thing, too. I'm a night person, so I prefer having more light in the evening. I love it when it gets dark really late in the summer.

Maybe we need to it by region. Here on the east coast it gets dark way too early during standard time. It's so much nicer now with the extra light in the evening. It means more time to enjoy the day after work, and I can see my stop from inside the bus!

Yes. Twitter is inundated with these fake accounts. There's no context for that photo. And given the intentions of the Woke Archive twitter account, it's clearly just being used to enflame anti-trans sentiments.

Thanks. Woke Archive is an anti-trans account. They've posted a photo of who knows what. I don't trust it.

I'm curious where you got this because it seems fake. There are a lot of fake accounts that are set up to make trans people and trans parents look bad. Conservative friends have posted some posts like this on Facebook and when I've checked them out they were clearly fake. I couldn't find this one.

Everyone should be worried. Especially if they're following Putin's playbook, which is seems they are. Being a straight white male won't save one from a government that can imprison those who speak out against it. Party membership and loyalty aren't shields in an autocracy. Why can't they see that?

Yeah, I think a lot of people are going back to just posting family and nature photos on Facebook. I'm pretty sure all of my conservative friends have unfollowed me, so they don't see any of my posts. Although they sometimes come out of the woodwork when I post bird or cat photos!

Sad. But hopefully you reach a few. Maybe at least something starts to click in their heads. Sometimes it just takes a new perspective for things to shift in their thinking, although they may not become aware until later.

I wish they explained better what bad spouts are. Some have suggested that I don't have enough spouts. That could be it, but I'd still like to know which of my spouts are problematic because I don't think any of them are. How can a person work to reduce problematic spouts if they don't know that?

It doesn't seem to be following the guidelines they've given us. I don't mind if they use other criteria. I'd just like to know what they are. I enjoy posting my thoughts, which everyone may not agree with, and forwarding ideas I support, but I'm not one for nasty arguments or trolling or selling!
