The cognitive dissonance in posting about 9/11 when you have yet to acknowledge the million Americans dead from COVID, most of which we could have saved had the pandemic been acknowledged and managed properly from the start.

The GOP have successfully created another strawman fallacy.

What is stoking the Right's fear of "the destruction of their way of life": a stranger's race, gender, sexuality, abortion, religion, migration, path to education, et al. Basically just information that has little-to-no impact on them.

Maybe corporations are experiencing declining revenue because they give all the money they make to wealthy shareholders and billionaires who hoard it.

I recently learned that when you see an old guy with crooked readers on, it's because he's too cheap to drop 20 bucks on a new pair. Because that's me now.

Another lie my generation's men were raised believing was that complimenting a woman's looks gave her needed validation and confidence. That our lustful opinions possess value, making our advances a currency. One of many ways we were conditioned to be creeps and torment women.

Misogyny and homophobia are inextricably linked. Any straight man's fear of being considered feminine stems from how they themselves view women: as subhuman, as objects to be dominated. This self-created fear is then projected on gay men, and hate is the tool they choose to deflect association.

Thinking bout how several states have laws banning taking newborn puppies from their mothers before 8 weeks b/c it is traumatic—yet only 16 states (15 Dem & 1 GOP) & 0 federal laws mandate paid leave for new moms

US law seems more humane to dogs & puppies than to moms & babies😳

Dear creatives, these will happen.

-People will misunderstand you
-Some will ignore you
-Others will misinterpret you
-They'll criticise you

How do you deal with all of that without breaking down?

Be busy creating new things so it doesn't bother you as much.

Keep creating.

These GOP headlines remind me of the movie The Invention of Lying. They realized they no longer needed to contort the delivery of news to undermine segments of the population, but instead can completely fabricate stories and information, make it the lede, and echo it from every corner.

If the past few years have taught us anything, it's that:

1) Poverty is a policy choice.
2) Workers keep America going, not billionaires.
3) Corporate profits don't trickle down.
4) Health care is a human right.

The time to act on these issues is now.
