It’s just a random thought, but if you murdered somebody, and you immediately tipped them into a bath full of Jell-O, and let it set, you probably have months before anybody smelt anything. #perfectCrime

I will be watching the crime reports very closely to see who decided to try this.

This wonderful docu is being re-released on Apple, Prime, Vudu, Vimeo and others starting tomorrow. Captures the hopes and dreams of artists beautifully. Any artist or anyone who loves and artist, young or old, will likely find it moving and important.

I've had three authors in the last month give me the same compliment after being on my show: that my interviews are substantive & really dive into the heart of the topic, directly addressing information in their books. This is the best possible compliment I could receive, and it makes me feel GREAT!

thread 2 Threaded Spouts
Part of the process of making an indie film is collaborating with an amazing team-- Finding the right creative voices to tell the story in front of and behind the camera. This includes cast, producers, casting directors, storyboard artists, production designers, sound mixers, costume designers, etc.

Some nights fly by, filled with light.
Some nights languish on, swelling with anguish.

And most who see you under sun's light don't know which transpired before first glimpse.

We truly don't know what others are up against. So give each other grace. And give yourself some, too.

There is a little confusion about Collaborative Threading. Before starting a new thread, you have to click the add collaborator icon. This allows you to add up to three other people who can collaborate on a thread. You can remove your collaborators at any time.

might be controversial but I think all movies should start with a jackass style intro. "I'm george clooney and this is oceans eleven" [punched in the nuts]

So imagine you get paid pretty well, but for only 12 weeks a year. And that “pretty well” is 50% what you worked for 5 years ago. And you can’t get a job in the other 40 weeks, because the 12 week job has rights to your services…without paying you more.

This is why we strike.

OK, so some of us adore the idea of addressing Spoutible users as “Speople.” But before we start, can we get an “Amen!” up in here? Or a series of fervent boos? I love “Speople.” Doesn’t have to be THE word for us…just A word. Like jam, jelly, and marmalade, there’s room for variety of nomenclature.

Welcome to Spoutible @BMJ ! I’m a defector from the Dead Bluebird too…finding this place quite friendly and interesting. Hope you do too. Takes a while to get the hang of it. No algorithms to boost messages. Everything is tied to echos…so search and echo whenever you can. Follows will come…

That's also why a diverse room is so important. Different backgrounds, ages, genders...all of that brings a lot to the pot of trying to cook a story out of thin air, with nothing but an idea and how to let the characters navigate that idea into the world that's been made.

Just a reminder to all interested, I'm going to rush home from the WGA strike line today so I'll be available for the AMA on here at 6pm pst. See you then!

Week two of trying to establish a TV/FILM community at a stable, sane, sustainable place AKA...here.

I'm doing Mondays. @Nevslin is doing Tuesdays. @Glenn_Farrington is Thursdays.

So, ask about anything, but also look around...find your contacts. OK, FIRE AWAY...and please echo this along.

Every single thing that makes TV/Film writing economically feasible was won through labor action.

Health insurance.
Pension.
Control over credits.
Basic minimums.

"I'm sorry. It's too expensive," is always the response.

Fine. We'll do it again.

Today is Tuesday, May 2 and the WGA is on strike.

AMPTP has forced this, and the WGA is in the right to strike for a living wage and basic protections.

PreWGA are welcome to join picket lines to show solidarity! See below for Schedule & Locations.
