With no prompting, my brain just reminded me of how 10 yr ago I tried to be friends with an ex (after we'd both married other ppl) and that SOB started a fight about gun control and ended up telling me "you're very smart but you're so aggressive I don't think anyone could be your friend" FIN.

Life is returning to normal after a battle of moods and wills with my 13 year old daughter. She's happily chatting on the phone with a friend. I'm feeling drained and emo and considering giving myself bangs in the bathroom mirror. Maturity is maybe a myth? ๐คฃ

Last night's Oscar wins were HUGE for Asian representation. Amazing. Wonderful. I love it.
Also feeling tremendous emotion about the Best Picture representation of risky, wild, crazy, weird, unexpected, kinda vulgar, violent, chaotic hilarity. So happy Everything Everywhere All At Once swept it

I do not normally watch Oscars, care about Oscars, or even like movies that win Oscars...
I adore Michelle Yeoh. I LOVED Everything Everywhere All At Once. I related to her character way too much for comfort. I'm overjoyed by the movie's success and the recognition of Michelle Yeoh's amazing work

I have a (mild) cold

and I'm studying algebra (with my kid)

Both of my teenage daughters felt "unable to scream". They insisted that they didn't know how.

My teenage daughters are in a lesson with an acting coach. Not to "act" exactly but to learn to speak loudly and clearly. To be beasts. I want them to be unstoppable monsters of confidence and courage. I want them to stop crying about class presentations. I hope it's going well ๐ฅฐ๐ฅฐ

Since I woke up, I've been thinking about how very much I enjoyed Bill & Ted Face the Music and how much it means to me on many weird levels. It felt like a hug and apology and a big ol welcome to me, as a lifelong Bill & Ted fan even though the first 2 weren't explicitly welcoming to women
