It was clear from the beginning that Trump is begging for a reaction to his posts to bolster his "free speech" narrative. (if they go after him for the post, he does have a free speech argument).

He's not interested in a defense, he wants to derail the process.

If you're a hateful person that might appeal to you, but it's trash policy.

That is one of the most blatant attempts at a straw man argument I've ever seen. "You must choose between these 2 options in a binary situation or your argument is invalid" ... knowing he's full of it, he never stops talking so nobody can make any actual statements.

Guy's clearly an idiot.

Well, EVERYONE needs to have 4 seats now, so they've had to admit that they never actually carry anything in the bed, so it can shrink to uselessness.

My van can carry 9 people, AND it can hold an 8x4 sheet of plywood with the doors closed. (and ... it also has the engine: surprise!)

But, when it's a better place for all people, it doesn't maximize the profits for some people.

Those people want it to be worse for most people so that it can be better for them. They vote purely with their wallet.

Thank you! I think that history gets simplified at times for easy digestion and the thing I was watching took short-cuts. It's a fascinating part of history.

No, no. I just get conjunctivitis once in a while (some duct in my eyelid gets clogged and sore) and usually can just buy the eye-drops. Now, with this variant going around the medication is unavailable. Having a case without medication will be much more unpleasant. I dread that.

By no means a Russian apologist, but I do know something about history. That tank which looks silly now is a T-34 which is the weapon that defeated the German army and won the largest tank battle in history at Kursk. An American Sherman would also look silly now but they appear in parades as well.

If I was trying to understand the rights of an American, an American is about the last person I'd talk to.

After all, they have been taught their rights in the US educational system which is currently banning books, denying rights, and pretending that the history of minorities never happened.

It is approaching the point where the Court is a threat to your system of gov't. (it may already be there) SC is literally challenging the power of the other branches.

I think defending the balance of power in the US is enough to justify court expansion.

Are they suggesting this is good news for the idiot? 70% of the losing number from last election support him ... that's 30% less than the number he got when he lost. He's going backwards from a losing number and this is only polling GOP (before all of the other cases in court get rolling).

Who are also being sued. My guess is that the guy who said the things that lost the case (and he is still saying) won't be a popular pick for the moment. The precedent is set: Carlson's words cost a lot of money.

Heck , he could go to Russia: they seem to like him.

Religion (monotheism, anyway) has always been a way to make common people devalue this life (and thus work hard and give their money to the king) in favor of a promised "heaven" they can get to only if they're "good" and work hard in this life.

It is all about power.

I walked around Manhattan in 2016 at all hours of the day and night and it seemed less threatening than going to the 7/11 in my small Ontario, Canada city. Certainly much less scarier than the halls of my high school.

He's going to find that Manhattan is pretty darn sterile these days. Ironically, it was his pal Rudy Guiliani who ensured that if you can survive in Manhattan you're probably very rich. It's very far from the 1978 Taxi Driver New York City. Not sure if it's "better", but there is a lot less crime.

He is clearly not in this to make Twitter work. He has some other motivation. Simplest: he just hates that Twitter was useful for info sharing (and the right hates people having info). Crazier: He wants the whole thing to identify enemies or do AI research.

Also, there are outbreaks everywhere ... this place was admitting it.

Oh, it's not that I think Google is a good source, but I long ago learned that I can't control people. The internet has been horrible for people's critical thinking skills but insisting that they come to me instead wouldn't change a thing.
