Now and then you get asked in an interview a variant of, "What book you love do you wish you'd written?" I always answer the same way: None of them. Only those people could write them. But I want to write books that make other people feel like I feel when I read a book I love.

I'm back to work on a novel I put aside at the end of last year, when I was feeling burned out. I took it easy over Xmas and New Year, and wrote a novella. I didn't meant to, I just couldn't stop myself. And now I'm back into this novel and I'm loving it! Really excited again.

You know those bullshit maths problems that you think you'll never use (a train leaves King's Cross at 10am, etc.)? Today our D&D party vindicated maths teachers everywhere. We have to intercept an orc war band and needed to work out when and where we would meet!

Buy all the books you want even if you never get around to reading them. You're supporting authors, and that book will always be there for you, just in case. Of course we want to be read, but we need to eat too. So thank you, book buyers. May your TBR be ever-teetering.
