"I've been working up my Roll the Dyes Yarn Club colorways into lovely little hexagons using my turtle loom from @bluebonnetcrafters (on Etsy). I'm so happy with how the club colorways have turned out so far. A few spaces have opened up in the lub so l'd love to see a few fresh faces join!
I'm also considering adding a mini skein only option. Where you'd get a mini skein of both colorways. Does anyone want that? You'd still also get the stitch marker each month but I'm not sure about the bonus prizes every three months since I'm not made of money."

This is pretty iconic for the year. I went on a foreign language club trip to Mexico that April... we learned this dance while we were there and showed a few classes when we got back. It was only a few months later that it became a craze.

This month’s inspiration comes from the game Calico, published by AEG & Flatout Games in 2020. In this very puzzley tile laying game, players are collecting patches of various patterns and colors to assemble a quilt. Your quilt will have 3 design goals, and you will score points based on how well you fulfill them. There are also cats you can attract to your quilt by meeting their pattern requirements. And if you have 3 patches of the same color you get to sew a button onto you quilt for additional points. Don’t let the bright colors and adorable cats fool you though, this is a very thinky game!
The variegated colorway is inspired by the brightly colored patches you will use to create your quilt; it’s called: Patchwork. The Tonal-ish colorway is called Paper Piecing; inspired by the cloth tile bag that is included with the game.

I was in Iowa for a wedding and someone suggested we go to the downtown farmers market in Des Moines. When I saw this I decided it needed to be captured.

BETTER Booty shorts. Short black shorts on a pair of white mannequin legs with the word BETTER in gold letters on the butt. The booth these were displayed at was the Better Butter Bureau. The banner at the back of the booth seems to say "Thinking Thicc Since 2xxx (full year is blocked)" and the man running the booth is in a Grey ball cap, glasses, Hawaiian shirt, and is also sporting a bright yellow fanny pack. There's an ornate frame on the table with a chalkboard-looking list of "flavors" like Honey Walnut, Cinnamon, Jalapeño Lime, Garlic Herb, Lavender, and Ghee. The table has a blue & white checkerboard tablecloth on it. There's a white cooler on the ground behind the half-mannequin, it was probably full of butter.
