It has been about 35+ years since I had this scarf custom framed. I still love looking at the birds in the scene.

Hanging on a wall is a framed winter scene of a marsh with a about a dozen birds. The varied types of birds are flying or are perched on snow-covered branches.

A few years ago a second drop box was placed next to the long-standing Ballot drop box. That year it was confusing for some citizens who drove up to the first box with their ballot not realizing the box was for Property #Tax payments! 😱

Two drop boxes of similar shape and size are next to the exit of a parking lot at the county courthouse. A large flag on a stand between the boxes says "Vote Here."

You can take the Tsunami Challenge at the Hatfield Marine Science Center! At the end of a wave tank you build a tsunami-resistant structure with legos. Then #Press either the "sine" or "tsunami" button to make the wave. (August 2017)

Two children are busily building structures at the end of a wave tank. The tank is a long rectangular box made of plexiglass. To one side is a stand with a large button that when pressed will start the wave.

The concrete steps connecting a higher wood-chipped trail with a lower trail are shallow and discolored with black moss. The surroundings are bushes and trees with lush green Spring growth.

"The Discovery of King Tut" exhibition at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry had lots of gold foil used in the reproductions. This exhibit is a small shrine. AltText provides some of the details described on the exhibit's plaque. (November 2018)

The shrine built in the form of an Upper Egyptian chapel contained an empty pedestal with a back pillar, on which sunken footprints indicate the presence of a god who was probably never set up as a statuette but consciously suggested as an invisible god.…The shrine is embellished with eighteen scenes which the queen performs various activities on behalf of the king. On the right, she is assisting at a bird hunt, on the left she can be seen handing the king a sistrum and a drinking bowl or fastening a floral collar around his neck. In another scene, the king is pouring liquid into his wife's cupped hand. On the rear, she is anointing her husband and gives him a palm rib as a symbol of his eternal reign….the queen's actions resemble those of a priest's in a ceremonial scene.

A carousel horse with a painted #Saddle from about 1895 can be found in the basement workshop at the Historic Carousel & Museum (July 2018).

A wood horse painted in shades of brown supported on a metal pole. The saddle is carved in relief with curved scrolls and embellishments. Elegant and simple. The colors are a warm soft brown, light yellow gold, brick red, and teal. The plaque in front of the display says: GALLOPER HORSE, circa 1895, Gustav A. Dentzel, This horse still has it's original paint, From the Dentzel Family Carousel Collection.

My granddaughter and I weren't sure which direction to the go to find the exit to the corn maze. My little grandson pointed the way, and sure enough, we #Found it! (October 2023)

This lovely little hyacinth (a symbol of #Spring and renewal) greeted me when I opened the door early this morning. A reminder of its spiritual significance in many cultures.

Fun memories of my grandkids leaping down a giant jump pad in a greenhouse at the French Prairie Gardens. This is a photo in which I was able to catch one of them in mid-air. (June 2018)

A smiling nine-year is mid-air with long hair blowing behind her, arms somewhat stretched out, and legs bent in a running jump. The jumping pad is striped in yellow, red, and blue. The canopy is clear but foggy plastic over a metal framework. There are large flowering potted plants at the far end of the greenhouse.

From the pier and looking across the Yaquino Bay, the low hills and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's building can only be vaguely seen. (December 2019)

Three people are standing together at the entrance to Pier Dock 1 at the Port of Newport. Behind them, the wooden pier extends. In the distance, across the water, is a building with lots of vertical windows. The details are not clear. Even harder to see is the outline of the tree-filled hills behind the building. The people are bundled up because the weather is cold, windy, and wet.

A treat for 1.5 year old grandson was a trip to the Moda Center in Portland, Oregon to see "Sesame Street Live! Let's Party!" (January 2019)

The Sesame Street stage has three row houses as the background. A large screen showing animations is hanging down from the ceiling. Eleven of the characters are in a row facing the audience for the finale and final bows.

I didn't dare go to the #Edge of the overhang to peer down on the creek's rushing water. The rain soaked earth that makes up the ledge is in danger of collapsing. (March 12, 2024)

The overhang over the creek is covered with green grass and moss. Down below, the water is moving fast over concrete berms and branches. The water is a gray-green color with white foam and caps. The water is high, about mid-way up some of the trunks of the trees and brush that border each side. The sky is gray. It has just recently rained.

A gazebo provides #Shelter from the unexpected rain showers, or welcomed shade on a sunny day, or a place to rest when needed. (September 2023)

A small gazebo made from reddish wood is surrounded on three sides by a variety of trees of different shapes, colors, and sizes. In front of the gazebo are two converging walking paths covered with wood chips. There is a trash receptacle at the juncture of the paths. The sky is blue, but mostly filled with clouds of different hues of pink, blue, and gray.

Jack 'n Jill's #Hill on Storybook Lane in the Enchanted Forest in Turner, Oregon. (May 2023)

Enchanted Forest is an amusement park. This exhibit depicts the Jack n' Jill nursery rhyme. In a lush green setting of trees and ferns, two figures (young girl and a boy holding a pail) look like they are starting to stumble. The plaque in the foreground says: Jack n' Jill went up the hill to fetch a pail of water. Jack fell down and broke his crown, and Jill came tumbling after.

My grandchildren's school has an Oregon Trail re-enactment each year. As the children walk the perimeter of the field going from station to station they shake a jar of cream. The end result is butter!

A child about 10 years old is dressed in a gingham dress, and an apron and bonnet that look like they are made from muslim. She is pulling on the handle to a homemade replica of a covered wagon (which cannot be seen in this photo). There are a few other wagons in the picture that range in size from less than a foot to about 3 feet high. The child is holding a mason jar filled with white stuff in her free hand.

My granddaughter and I are holding on tight while having a blast on the Pony Express ride! Not so much fun for my sister-in-law and great niece. 😬 They are great sports though! ❤️❤️

Photo looks like a postcard with a saloon and horses along the border in keeping with the western theme. The photo is an optional purchase when buying the tickets for the Pony Express ride at the Knotts Berry Farm amusement park. The camera is set up to snap the photo during the car's fast descent. Hair is blown back and eyes are squinted to protect from the wind. Hands tightly grip the protective bar in front of each person.

This photo of Keyhole Sink Canyon in Arizona was taken by my sister during one of my many visits. (February 2011)

A sunny, but cold day. At the end of a box canyon are rock cliffs of reddish and gray colors. There is a frozen waterfall. It is hard to see because of the deep vertical crevices in the rock. The ground is a frozen pond. Above the cliffs you can see trees and blue sky.

For three of your tickets, you get to climb this portable, fiberglass rock wall at the festival. But mind you, the rules warn "It's up to you to make the right decision. Please use common #Sense ! Climb at Your Own Risk." (2016)

A child is in a safety harness climbing up the fake rock wall that looks more like a tree trunk instead of a rock. His dad is watching. There is a large sign at the base. The sign lists 8 rules about weight, health, what not to do, etc. This is followed by a positive "Climb On" encouragment. Which is then followed by more "Do Nots if you have physical or medical problems." And, then the statement, "It's up to you to make the right decision," etc.
