Spoutible could have been a safe space for the refugees of other social media sites, the people that are driven away by harassment, bigotry, and corporate policy, and sex workers are *always* on the leading edge of that.

Thing is, if all Spoutible is offering is "sanitized Twitter," then there's plenty of platforms offering that, too. Some of them even have mobile apps.

Spoutible: Would you like a social media site that's not run by a monomaniacal weirdo who refuses to engage with criticism or disagreement? Too bad! There are other platforms for that.

The great part about Spoutible is you can block anyone for any reason. I don't owe anyone an explanation for why I blocked them. I am not interested in reading replies about a policy that was decided by the community. If folks want adult content, there are other platforms for that.

on the plus side, the blue wave "team pete" liberal who has never encountered the term "sweaty" before blocked me, so my time on Spoutible hasn't been a total loss. Better than Vero!

Every once in a while I think about how I entered the world of comics retail before the first Tim Burton Batman movie, and how I was there for all the Bat-madness that followed, watching from behind the counter. I wish I'd taken better notes instead of relying on fuzzy memories.

I *would* be finished with my taxes, except these two forms I have to email to my accountant aren't going through because my accountant has the single worst email service I've ever encountered.

Was just reminded that, as a kid, I drew a splash-page parody of Lee/Kirby monster comics, featuring "FONDUU, THE CHEESE DISH THAT WALKED LIKE A MAN"

The libertarian defense of capitalism always gets pretty hilarious because it basically ends up redefining the US as having never been capitalist, and capitalism as a thing that has never existed, which is why all the problems aren't problems with capitalism really you see

Also there's the paranoia of "OH NO I FOUND SOMEONE ELSE HERE I KNOW ELSEWHERE THAT I HAVEN'T FOLLOWED YET I hope they don't hate me"

Just thinking, if Spoutible becomes the Twitter-killer, is Elon petty enough to sue over the look-and-feel of this site?

I wish the decision would be made as to which social media site is going to be the one to replace Twitter, so we can all stop casting about and jumping on each new one that comes along to make sure we have our space.

That said, I like Spoutible as it's basically just a reskinned Twitter.
