In response to Rebecca.
The "United" States contain wildly divergent regions in terms of gun culture, law, etc. My home & my networks have always been in the deepest blue areas of the US, which do not feel like war zones to me. I have not experienced this trauma, though I am angry that Repub lawmakers force it on others.

I have one cat who acts just like that dog, though... he runs to the opposite corner of the house (for example, after I catch him on a kitchen counter) and sits and looks contrite.

Thank you from a single-spouter! I just joined and am still figuring out my voice/contribution capacity. On Twitter I mainly listened/retweeted to steer clear of the nastiness. Would like to be more active here but feel I need to understand the site and its users better first.

And yet mainstream media too often default to "here's why that's bad for Biden" mode. I hope the message about the Biden/Dem employment record vs the Repub record somehow reaches the voters we need.

He also notes: "It will be a real tragedy if exaggerated fear of inflation causes the Federal Reserve to push interest rates too high for too long, leading to a gratuitous recession that throws away many of the gains we’ve made."
