Also, no bears hibernate all winter, and some don't hibernate at all. I suppose they are only "less hungry" right before they hibernate, but they are pretty much always grazing or hunting if awake. Dandelions 1st, then small critters and moose, then all you can eat salmon. Then a long nap.

I remember the film about that couple! Crazy stuff.
Brown bears are real hard to spot. They usually only attack when a cub or fresh kill is nearby. Black bears, same, but black bears are more curious and fearless around people. Well, the grown males are. I've seen 12 black bears in 3 years.

There is a woman, a retired biology professor, who goes in the park by herself to set up wildlife cams. Sometimes, she cannot get to them because there are too many brown bears around. I'd like to befriend her and go with her a time or two. She knows what she's doing.

I can see the Chugach Range from our place. I want to explore them all. I never could in on lifetime but I can at least go to Flattop Mountain or up into a few of them by car and then foot. The problem here, though, is that you never know where a moose or bear will pop up & both can be dangerous.

The worst is when I see a tiny woman in spandex with one of those running strollers. I always think, "How nice of you to bring the bears a snack!" 😱

It also could be my guitar. I tightened up loose nuts and other screws after watching a few YouTube videos. I might have shoulda taken it to the local luthier.

I'm in the, "Die, tiktok, die" group. While I see some useful posting happening there, mostly it's just stupid pranks and fake "watch what happens next" posts. And in my town, we've recently had two posts with youths beating up another youth and posting it. I actually think I hate TikTok.

Yup. Pretty normal for Anchorage. I've seen so many odd things. People walking around in costumes is not uncommon. I'm not sure why it's a thing, but it's a thing. As are hilarious personalized license plates, driving around with a real moose head in you truck bed, and hauling very wide boats.

The last two years, it took a total of 12 hours to clean up the back yard and get it ready for a whole 4 months of no snow.

We don't get grass in the back. There is black plastic over the ground, and a whole lot of mulch, spruce needles and cones, and other tree bits. "Spring break up" in Alaska is disgusting and wet. All the doo doo is WET. I hate this. I could hire someone for $100/hour but I need the exercise.
