I'll say this again.

This was never about porn. CB made it sound like people wanted to post porn. This is the problem.

Please explain to me how continuing to call people trolls and dunking on marginalized people who had legit questions about a policy they'd never read before is respectful and not toxic. I live-spouted your Spaces yesterday. I think you should read the thread.

Stop. Doing. This.

The 3-week-old startup hasn't tested edge cases yet, & people were asking for clarification about specific edge cases that you refused to provide guidance for. These people were Black, brown, Asian, white, etc. & of different genders.

You're making it unsafe to ask question

Spoutible can be better.
Spoutible SHOULD be better.
Spoutible CAN'T be better if its CEO is going to interpret criticism as a personal attack.
Please be better.
Actually BE a safe space and not just the lesser evil.
You'll have to do a LOT to regain the trust of many marginalized folks.

And CB himself just used the "unhinged" ableist slur. STOP THE ABLEIST SLURS. Just because it's not racism or antisemitism or transphobia doesn't mean it's not bigotry. It's ableism, and mentally ill people like me are harmed when these euphemisms for mental illness are used as pejoratives. 33/

Trying to live-spout this Spaces recording, even at 1.5x speed, was clearly a mistake with my energy-limiting disabilities, but what I'm saying needs to be said.

FYI: I'm not on TikTok for the reasons you're pointing out. I'd leave Twitter if my friends would follow me elsewhere. 32/

to do that here. We are HAPPY that Spoutible doesn't allow MAGA bigots, Nazis, and other hate groups to unleash their vitriol here. We are UPSET that people asking about a policy they'd never read before are being lumped in with bigots and NAZIS.

This guy asking a question referred to people like me as "unhinged." That's an ableist slur that should have been called out. And it's disingenuous to imply that people criticizing Spoutible aren't also criticizing the Greater Evils. Because we do. All the time, we do. We didn't think we'd have 30/

The tone was set by YOU, CB, not by "those 30 accounts."

You KNOW what it means to be tone policed. You KNOW what it means to criticize the status quo about legit problems & be dismissed & mischaracterized as "problematic" & "negative." Toxic positivity exists. That's what you're on about. 29/

on a systemic (on Spoutible) level. The people who are venting on Twitter about Spoutible in these last 72 hours WANTED TO BE ON SPOUTIBLE. They didn't want to post porn on Spoutible. They wanted to know that people like them (of which I am one) were welcome here. You MADE them unwelcome. 28/

Because right now, Spoutible isn't the safe space it was promised to be. Right now, it's the lesser evil.

Right now, I'm begging CB to listen to people like me. I'm begging him to see how his actions have been abusive 27/

please don't use "people voted for this" as a weapon against nuance. If I'd known how my vote would be characterized, I would have voted differently. My "no porn" vote was not meant to give validity to the ongoing harassment of other users doing sex-adjacent work. It's really easy for people 24/

Straight up: I voted against allowing porn on the site. That vote did NOT mean I wanted anything "sexually suggestive" to be a possible reason for getting suspended. There's a huge difference between not wanting to see porn on the platform and not wanting anything REMOTELY sexual allowed. So 23/

This is a really hostile response to this sex worker's question. CB is STILL pushing the line (that he denied saying) that "most sex workers are actually being sex trafficked and we can't know they're not being forced." And didn't allow her to respond. He bulldozed right over her. FUCKED UP. 20/

CB *still* isn't answering her question about what "sexually suggestive" means. He's admitting that Spoutible's policy is too vague, and he's only saying "as long as you're not committing a sex act, you MOST LIKELY won't have your content removed."

MOST LIKELY is the problem. 19/
