I went out after a little storm today. Found some kids grumbling about the sidewalk not being shoveled at an intersection. Grandpas used to do this, but Covid-19 either killed or sidelined them. The sidewalks near my place were shoveled because a grandps came though. He's 88. Good night, world.

Update: JAL 516 collided with a coast guard aircraft. WTF?! This is worse than a freak crash.
2024 continues to suck for Japan. JAL 516, which departed from CIS ( New Chitose International Airport) crashed in Haneda Airport. CIS is my local Airport. 367 passengers (8) kids and 13 crew escaped.

They are screaming for people in Ishikawa-ken to run away from the coast/beach. The earthquake had a magnitude of 7.6. Ishikawa-ken had a degree 7 of intensity. We should expect deaths. The tsunami is currently 5 meters!! We're on the northern island. Over 2 million of us live on a flat plain!

Apparently, winter is still coming. There is snow on Mt. Teine today. Hibernation sickness will soon be upon us. Mt. Teine moonlights as a weather station. It does not have ski slopes. Mt. Teine is located in Hokkaido, Japan. This is nowhere near Tokyo, Osaka or Kyoto. Hokkaido is the Ainu Mosir.

A month ago, I met a young man from Ghana. He is a graduate student at our university. Though I kept trying to meet him, I couldn't due to a chaotic academic "off-season." When I did, he brought a young woman from his country with him. Both wore a #mask as I requested and I appreciated it. TBC

Woke up this morning to tornado watches. It isn't particularly hot, but the humidity is at a dangerous level. This clock displays 81%. Others in my home show 85%. This one also warns of food poisoning, mold, and bugs. In 29 years, I have never seen the food poisoning warning (top center black box).

This morning, an Amazon guy delivered three metal shelves-to-be in the sweltering heat (32.1⁰C/89.6⁰F) & I gave him a sports drink. A neighbor, someone I never associate with, made it a point to come to my unit to interrogate me about why I rewarded him. She said, "We don't do that here." WTF?!

As a testament to the kind of stress I'm under, I've been defeated by a tea-coffee bottle. Apparently, it has a childproof lock. Or maybe it's designed this way to reduce spillage when the bottle is placed horizontally. The directions only state to remove the paper before use. #DAILYLIFEWOES

Video uploading issues via the website is preventing me from identifying the bird that has taken up residence on my balcony. Uploading a still instead. It's been out there screeching like mad for nearly 7 minutes. The noise is worse than crows & seagulls getting into it on garbage collection day.
