But her sacrifice didn't make people understand, and she hasn't taken any time to consider her own contribution to the party that gave us Trump. She is Sarah Cynthia Sylvia Stout and it's too late to take her garbage out.

Tiniest hill I will die on: "like literally" is a terrible phrase no one should use. A thing can be like another thing OR it can literally be that thing. Not both. Most other grammar transgressions I can justify or let slide.

Curious, what's wrong with gravy? Kibble and a little gravy in a Kong was kinda my plan for getting her to leave the humans alone while we're eating.

Kinda. At some point it crept into Christianity that "discernment of spirit" really means that all new information is from the devil. It makes academic pursuits very challenging. As a previous Roman Catholic turned Episcopalian with a master's degree, it's very dismaying to me.

I tend to agree with your "christians vs. churchgoers" thread, btw. I'm a Christian who happens to have found a good church. For a while my husband's "church" was the community blood bank because that's where he found meaningful service.

I've definitely heard of churches that are heavy handed with tithing, but the Roman Catholic church I attended for years and the Episcopal church I attend now are not like that at all. We call the ones you've experienced "Our Lady of the Mercedes Benz" 😏

The current VP of the US and former Senator and AG of the country's largest and most diverse state is plenty qualified and capable to assume the role if needed. No concerns about her at all.

My freshman English teacher assigned a portion of The Autobiography of Malcolm X. More than one of us ended up reading the whole book. The same year in a different school in the same district, my now husband was assigned Beloved.

Agreed. Biden was not my first choice in primary candidates, but there have been several points in the last few years where I've said, "Ok, this is why it had to be Joe Biden." And VP Harris was def his best running mate pick.
