Why is it that religion that is so concerned with the state of my soul

Though I was born, took my first steps, went to school, worked in this country, I lived in this country, I have NEVER even for a second, that I was home in this country, I have never felt safe, never felt I belonged, never felt wanted, you can’t even imagine such a thing.
