I just sent the summation of the year to my editor. The final manuscript of The Best Horror of the Year Volume Fifteen is 591 pages.

thread 12 Threaded Spouts
Do you remember Medium, the online publishing platform started in 2012? It quickly gained momentum, was doing well, but then declined. Why this happened is instructive, and a cautionary tale for all social platforms. No-one is truly indispensable. People will move if the platform becomes unstable.

The various Medium owners didn't get that memo and it seems Musk did not get the memo either. Musk takes the users of Twitter for granted, thinking they'll stick with the platform no matter what in spite of glitches and de-platforming ppl he disagrees with.

Ok time to lose some followers! JK Rowling *says* "I support trans people" but it is hollow if you never do anything to actually support them when they are being bullied and harassed, but make it worse! Or when their rights are being taken away. Supporting trans ppl means standing up for them.

If you wait a moment after pasting a link into your spout, a preview should pop up. Once it does, you can delete the URL and the preview stays. That way it doesn’t count against your character limit. (Example with Google below since I’m not sure preview is the right word)

Edit: 🤨 it disappeared

Paste the URL, wait for a preview box below your spout to how up in the composer, delete the URL text, and the preview stays, then continue composing like normal.

That's how you can use links without taking up your character limit.
