It’s obvious you were not an early adopter of Twitter. Do you think it started with news outlets and academics? I was there. It did not. We early adopters built a community first, then they came. It was just us geeks in the beginning sharing our lunches and links.

I hadn’t logged in there for weeks and even then hadn’t paid much attention to the comments. My blood pressure must have spiked this morning reading the comments on that post. So extremely thankful for Spoutible!

My kids attended Hanover County Schools. I’m so disappointed to read this, but not surprised. Evangelical churches are extremely prevalent there.

You put an entire cup of sugar in a gallon of that stuff!! No wonder we were constantly biking, running and climbing things and our parents made us stay outside.

While I wholeheartedly agree with this and would definitely go mama bear, I also must listen to too much true crime because my first thought was “what if the older woman was in on it?” 😳

My grandparents were probably what was considered poor white trash, and I recall them using the same phrases however being a kid in Maine during the 70’s there was practically no diversity so I never connected it until I became an adult.

I’d be interested in hearing from more Native Americans about their access to this, however as a country it’s not universal healthcare unless everyone is covered.

She’s pretty amazing. We have had many discussions about body positivity during car rides and shopping trips. I’m so proud of her! How could I not wear it out in public?

This is why revolutions begin. Eventually, the people become so downtrodden and weary that the risks become worth it if it means change and a better life for their children. Are we there yet? Probably not, but we are on the path.

My family has been telling me for years I'm 0% normal, so I didn't even blink when I saw that, I just thought I'd found my people.

I'm learning, although those four question marks in my post above were supposed to be a whale icon, so I'm obviously a slow learner.

You can't make sense of the senseless. I've learned more about black history in my 50's than I did in school. YT people are resistant to learning about the brutality and unfairness of our own history. The more Black History Month teaches, the more ugly past is revealed. Many can't handle the truth
