Rarely is there only one way to overcome a problem, but I guess Musk doesn't know that.

Well, #3 seems rather irrelevant.

I mean, really. Who besides folks who aren't on any list of wealthiest people cares whether Musk is 1st or 2nd on such lists?

Let me know when he's destitute. I'll find that interesting, as will he, I'm sure.

Gerrymandering has no impact on election races that are statewide, as are the races for POTUS, governor, US senator & others. It does affect most US House & state legislator races, & other non-statewide-office races.

I have that CD. It's in the rotation on my iPod. Have liked pretty much every KB song I've ever heard, including her collaborations. (EG P. Gabriel & Maxwell).

Wonder if Laurie Anderson will enjoy a resurgence....

If Spoutible provides it, great. BTAIM, I know what my options are if & when this app meets with my disapprobation.

Actually, what I asked for is a comprehensive explication of the functional design, which isn't a proprietary thing at all.

The technical design is proprietary, but I don't need to know that.

I'll have to wait for the explanation to know whether it displeases me.

If it does, the reason would be b/c it's incomplete with regard to its functional design explication.

That's a worthwhile improvement.

You know what would be a perfect improvement? Simply using plain English to detail in the Help pages the algorithm the thing executes to arrive at a rating.

EG:
Step 1. Bot Sentinel gathers ...
Step 2. Bot Sentinal does X with data elements A, B, C, etc.

The P&L impact is seen in the journal entries for the events you noted

Dr. Theft Loss $100
Cr. Cash $100
To record a theft of cash

Dr. Cash $70
Dr. COGS $35 (assumed)
Cr. Sales $70
CR. inventory $35 (assumed)
To record sale of goods

You clearly don't know what your doing or talking about. The question you posed is a typical ACCT101 homework question.

Your question referred to a sale of goods, not services, therefore the cost of inventory (cost of goods sold; COGS) must be included in any calculation of net income/loss.

You're on the right track, but your calculation assumes the retailer sold the item purchased at the retailer's cost to buy it. Retailer's generally don't do that.

Your calculation omits COGS.

SALES - COGS - EXPENSES = NET INCOME (LOSS)

Frankly, you haven't provided enough info for one to accurately answer your question b/c net income (loss) is partly a function of COGS, which you haven't provided.

+ Sales = 70
- COGS = 35 (assumes 50% markup)
- Theft expense = 100
= Net Loss = -65

Basic income statement equations:
Sales - COGS = Gross Profit
Gross Profit - Expenses = Net Income (Loss)
