What? No way. He's absolutely failed his job at the DOT. Have you tried flying lately? And what did he do after the train crash in Ohio? Oh right, thoughts & prayers. 😑
He is lazy and he panders to corporations to get money, like the rest of them.

It used to be rare to see ppl talk about their horoscopes in public.
It's also notable that the average person's knowledge of astro used to be limited to the sun sign, but now a significant # of ppl also talk about the other planets/positions in more detail.
Astro is def becoming more popular imo!

I had an all-electric car, and the range anxiety nearly killed me. :(
I have a hybrid now, and it's the best of both worlds! It cost about $1k to install a charger in my garage, so I charge at night at home.

That wouldn't reduce his popularity or cult following. Look at Manson.
The NEED for clinging to a cult leader would go down if people's economic and social situations were more secure.

Desert willow!
It grows quickly, and it is covered with BEAUTIFUL pink flowers that smell good. It requires little water, and it's native to the desert, so it's good for the environment.

I don't like it though. I'd rather someone run for president who has a longer political track record, who has shown their mettle. Maybe that's just not feasible, but ugh, having a wildcard really sucks. History shows that real progressive heroes are exceedingly, exceedingly rare. 🧵

However, the alternative is EXTREMELY depressing. Like 70% of Americans, I also detest the idea of a Biden v Orange rematch.🤮
But our country is on the edge of a cliff. I truly believe either guy will push us over. Maybe we just have to risk an unknown like Marianne bc we have no alternatives. 🧵

Back to Marianne. She's never held public office. This concerns me, because we can't see how she handles the threat of corruption. She says good things. Maybe she means them... now... it's amazing how bribes can magically change your mind, though. We've seen it happen before. 🧵

Careful observers should have seen her betrayal coming. But they were swayed by her WORDS.
Learn to watch what people DO, not what they say.

Sinema's tale is cautionary. Pay attention to how people handle power, particularly money. Ignore their words.

During her tenure in AZ politics the "telltale signs of corruption" (to quote the Music Man) were already starting to show. Her progressivism in AZ was always performative; she didn't fight for economic reforms. She was always in it for herself. 🧵

(BTW I met her when she worked @ ASU. We were supposed to build a class together. She wasn't at all interested. She just told me to copy over other people's lectures & assignments for her to use. She treated staff like servants. I lost respect for her. Wouldn't be shocked if her degrees are fake.)🧵

She started living lavishly even then. Moved to Scottsdale. Wore flashy clothes. These should have been red flags.

"Oh, she was a social worker."
For a year. She wasn't actually interested in WORKING. it got hard, so she changed careers. Her grand ideas buckled quickly under pressure.🧵

We should've paid more attention to her earlier time. Sinema started taking corporate cash when she was @ the local level in AZ. Even though she was saying progressive-ish things at that time, she wasn't actually doing much fighting. She was mainly talking. (And even her words began to water down)🧵

Progressives are haunted by Sinema. She said all the right things, she held lower offices before going to Washington. What happened?

We need to understand this, to prevent being duped again. At this time in history, we have to be extra careful. 🧵

Unfortunately in our current system, power involves exposure to TONS of bribes. Can the person resist this pressure?

Before running for pres, someone should hold lower political roles for awhile, so we can see what they do. (NOT WHAT THEY SAY.) How do they actually vote & work?🧵

So many similar examples. Castro, Stalin, etc.

I've thought a lot about how we can know whether someone who says the right words will actually do what they say, and not become corrupted.
One thing I've landed on is that you have to observe how the person handles power. 🧵

Yeah, I was really thinking the holdup in all of this was because Dominion was insisting the settlement must include a public statement of apology/correction. Dammit.
