This is yet another example of how #PatriarchalWhiteSupremacy hurts everyone.

Defense chief slams Tuberville’s hold on Pentagon nominees over abortion policy | The Hill
Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin on Tuesday said there will be “powerful effects” on military readiness if Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) continues to hold up more than 150 Pentagon nominees over an abortion policy in the Defense Department. Austin told the Senate Armed Services Committee ..

I'm usually a pretty upbeat person but it's hard to see how we claw back our right to the pursuit of happiness when Republican lawmakers and private gun enthusiasts care more about $$$ and doing whatever the fuck they want than protecting children's lives. #ItsTheGuns

Don’t worry. Books were here before you were born, and they’ll likely be here after you’re gone, too.

I get very weird whenever someone comes to the house to fix anything. It's like I forget how to human. Is this an introvert thing, a freelancer thing, or a post-pandemic thing? Option D: I might just be a very awkward penguin.

Friday is a very weird day when you're a freelancer because you're just as tired as you were as an employee but tomorrow isn't necessarily a day off.
I mean, it is for me, because I'm a sloth person and prioritize rest above all other things. But that's just me.

"Whether it is the Weimer Republic in Germany, pre-Mussolini Italy, modern Hungary, or most Cold War Russia, the common thread behind every successful totalitarian movement is underreaction by the rest of society while there’s still time to stop them."

So, I'm paying attention to the #news for the first time in a while because I'm hoping a certain ochre-tinted former elected official will be indicted soon and it's really wild how my mental health has taken a nosedive. Should I just go back to watching videos of baby sloths?

We've all been sick since Christmas. We had a cold, then a stomach bug, then Covid, then another cold. Anyway, I've done some research and to be healthier, all we need to do is wait 13 years until my daughter goes away to college.

Jimmy Carter's work for women's rights is a lasting centerpiece of his legacy
In May 2015, a few months before his 91st birthday, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter appeared at a TED Women conference and gave a substantive 16-minute speech without notes. He landed a timely joke borrowed from a New Yorker cartoon about ex-presidents and casually mentioned the 145 countries he ..

Texas Republicans introduced new bill:
1. Huge tax cuts for heterosexual couples having children (e.g. 100% property tax cut for 10 children).
2. Motto: “Be fruitful and multiply.”
The road to the Handmaid’s Tale world is lined with people telling us to stop overreacting.

Do we know *why* kids hate it when their parents sit for a min? I'm not just complaining, I'm honestly curious.
Apparently, newborns cry when you sit because they're wired to keep moving to avoid predators. But there's no good reason why my preschooler is so offended by me reading the newspaper.

I truly don't understand people who get all upset about a person listing their own pronouns. Like, all I want in the whole wide world is not to hurt someone's feelings. Thank you for facilitating that for me, person who let me know which pronouns to use. One less 3 am worry.

My whole family has been sick since the start of the year--first a cold, then a stomach virus, then Covid, now another cold. I've decided that I'm tired of it and I'm just going to ignore being sick. (I work at home, so my germs are contained, lol.)

A month ago, creating a non-toxic social media site seemed like an impossiblity. But just look at us now! The feel is real!
Christopher Bouzy @cbouzyFor a long time, many of us had to have our guard up on other platforms; we don't have to do that here. Let's treat one another with respect and have respectful debates. Let's show the world that social media doesn't have to be toxic.05:55 AM - Feb 22, 2023

Why is healthcare so expensive in America?
In the past few years, some hospital CEOs have seen their salaries increase by as much as 700 percent. Yes, you read that correctly.
