Pam McSt @pammcstI thought it was an interesting metaphor considering the 'not human' quote in the intro of Maus I & the Mickey Mouse quote in Maus II. The illustrated/comic format allows the author to use symbolism in a way that would not be possible with simple prose. The lower right panel, for instance, gives the sense of a spotlight / target on A.S.'s father as he walks; he cannot hide.
