The system will be available through a pilot program for a small group of taxpayers by January, when the 2024 filing season begins, said the people briefed on the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss internal agency conversations.

It was developed by the IRS and the U.S. Digital Service, the White House’s technology consulting agency.

Last year’s Inflation Reduction Act, one of President Biden’s chief legislative victories, included $15 million for the IRS to look into creating a direct-filing program.

The Internal Revenue Service has quietly built its own prototype system to allow Americans to file tax returns digitally and free of charge, according to three current and former agency officials, essentially creating government software that could disrupt the tax-prep industry.

I rarely get any engagement here.

That’s okay, it’s still growing. The engagement I do get is worthwhile.

We just pushed an update to test clicking back to your timeline and saving your spot. It will only work for the first page of spouts for now, but tomorrow it will also work with the infinite scroll. We are allowing you guys to test it now to get early feedback..etc.

I don't understand the interest in only using the top 5 (or 10) most cited articles to answer a question. Seen so many (AI) tools being designed that way. Aside from the "popularity" aspect & known citation disparities, what about newer papers which may have more current knowledge but fewer cites?

Do you include hashtags in your posts?

When you capitalize each word, e.g. #MakeSpoutibleAccessible , #TextToSpeech software users hear all the words read individually. W/out caps they hear a string of gibberish, denying people with impaired vision appropriate access.
