Repaired and dumped a 1-of-a-kind prototype Atari 2600 cartridge. Replaced the bad 74LS04 chip that was bodged onto the bottom of the PC board. It's for monitoring an exercise bike!

Did you know that AST really released a multifunction sidecar for the PC Jr? It wasn't vaporware or empty ads, but an actual product with memory, parallel port, and clock / calendar

Nothing like fixing severe NiCd battery damage. Was able to clean up and salvage all but 2 pads on the board then install a replacement chip from a donor PCB.
Ran 3 30ga Kynar wire patches for battery damaged traces then a quick jumper wire to a power pin where a pad for the chip was destroyed.

One replacement sound CPU later, a vintage Street Fighter II (Red Wave hack) is back in good running condition!
Plus... it's already sold. Posted on FB inquiring about which hack was on the board and a one of the group members is driving over to get it. 😀

w00t! pulled an all-nighter working on a copule Tekken 3 arcade game boards so made breakfast for the family... Made from scratch biscuits and gravy. First time making biscuits and it's heck of a workout cutting in butter in with a pastry tool, but the results... MMMM! One is topped with fig jam.

It's hard to cut Blueberry Wensleydale cheese, but here it sits on generic Triscuits with honey on top. Not pretty, but delicious :D

WOW... things have settled down now that we're about 3/4ths through the initial storm line. 80MPh wind gusts have rearranged stuff on the patio and I'll need to go chasing things down through the yard once this is over.

Restoring an Apple IIc to operation. Motherboard fixed and upgraded, case and keyboard cleaned, and next up is relubing the keyswitches.
Once everything is dry and done, it'll be reassembled for final testing before being put up for sale.

Received and built a couple of retro computer kits last night. These use a tiny Arduino, an OLED display, and an SD card to mimic a cassette player to load software on to old computers.

Any computer kit builders here? Picked up a blank PCB from a friend and finished building this just in time for last weekend's DFW Retro Computer meet-up.
It's a PicoVGA based on a Raspberry Pi Pico and uses an SD card for file storage. Runs MMBASIC.
