There is a house for sale in my city that apparently comes with a horrifying monster in the basement that survives solely on Sunny D.

This doesn't make any sense. It's 1858 and Mr. Imgrund has to go to Lawrence to get provisions because Topeka didn't exist despite being founded in 1854--the same year as Lawrence?

I didn't see the northern lights last night so I just set my kitchen on fire. Same thing, right?

I am writing a fish-out-of-water/romance story set in a small town I'm calling "Jaketown". I got the name from a road (and now-extinct town) in nearby Wabaunsee County, Kansas.

A sign was put up around 2020 as a joke to welcome a newborn to the "community".

Maybe it's the format, but this just doesn't land how it's supposed to. (From 1910)

And this is not the George Baker who created Sad Sack.

"We're going to do a statewide Click It or Ticket campaign for Memorial Day...for 2 weeks."

Look, wear your seat belt. My car doesn't move until everyone is buckled, but 2 weeks of this? Seems like overkill and a way to gouge for money.

Kris Kobach can go die in a fire.

Kobach and none of these other politicians actually care about Israel. They only care about it being the only non-Arab country in the Middle East and something about Jesus.

And really, it's just the Jesus thing.

Scrolling through newspapers and found a town I had never heard of. Pierce Junction, KS.

It was in southeastern Brown County at the intersection of two railroads. It was located around present-day U.S. 73 & Sunflower Rd. In 1910, when this newspaper came out, Pierce Junction had a population of 26.

If Gladys was Kristen Noem, she would've just shot Kewpie and then blamed Kewpie for getting blood all over the good sofa.

One of my favorite video games was Felix the Cat for Nintendo. It recently came out on Switch so I had to buy it. While it's not a perfect remastering of the game, it still retains it's playability, it's cuteness and originality, and great music. If you've never played it, I highly recommend it.

My county parks and rec is holding a March Madness-like competition for our smaller parks. One of my favorite parks made it to the Elite Eight stage but was handily eliminated.

It's me. I'm the 1.

"Sure, boss. And they're real fucking sexy, just like you asked."

"What...?"

A lot of employees were then hired by my employer at the time and given higher paying jobs and supervisor positions completely passing over dozens of people who had dedicated 3 years of their careers to my employer.

People losing their jobs is terrible, but pardon me if I don't care about this one.

Anyway, a new, short post is up for you. Yes, you...and only you.
