@Maria @mcgarrygirl78 and I present the #grunge #music #CollaborativePlaylist extraordinaire. I'm starting this thread off with the first grunge song I (and most of us) ever heard. The first time I heard this song was when this video played on MTV. Smells Like Teen Spirit. #SpoutingClassics

Even though Smells Like Teen was the first grunge song I ever heard, I didn't really get into this music until I heard Jeremy from Pearl Jam. Coincidence: my best friend growing up moved away to another town and went to school with this kid.

Prior to the grunge explosion, I didn't really listen to a lot of heavier guitar driven music. But once my ear got used to it through repetition, I LOVED it. I remember this being a song that just entranced me.

Adding more about the band Bam Bam.👇🏾
In 1983, the Seattle band Bam Bam, fronted by a talented, elegant Black woman named Tina Bell, created a sound and lyrical foundation for a genre that white men with knit hats and plaid shirts would later make famous as “grunge.”

There are a few missing. Unfortunately Spoutible got a little glitchy midday yesterday and we lost a chunk of about 30 spouts out of the middle somehow. Jane's Addiction was in that bunch. I posted Been Caught Stealing, though. ☺️

Oh yeah, I've read about the glitches. That's what my first thought was, you could not not to include JA in this lovely mix (fun fact: Been caught stealing still irritates me, after all these years 😮. Not sure why, it's such a good song 🤷🏼‍♀️)
