Stop worshipping billionaires.

Elon Musk threw away tens of billions of dollars to buy Twitter, and has spent the last year running it into the ground.

When billionaires take control of our most vital platforms for communication, it’s not a win for free speech.

It’s a win for oligarchy.

I'm going to keep spouting my opinion that the current state of Twitter is precisely what Musk bought it to do. He took a powerful marketplace of voices he didn't like and closed our mouths.

I have often thought this too. But even though it has been a powerful info sharing platform you can only get a temporary win from killing it, as platforms and communities build around its collapse, which was predictable. And he has lost control. So puzzling.

Haha you are onto the key! So hard to figure out the motivations of someone who is a crappy strategist. Because are they getting what they wanted or failing? And he talks total shit about what he was trying to do by buying Twitter.
