With the *amazing* influx of younger generations into @Spoutible , a question comes to mind that perhaps all generations can help with. How might an older set of U.S.-based volunteers pass the baton on volunteer projects to expand local trails, especially urban trails?

I am especially interested in how to reach younger generations with what methods, what values to highlight (genuine values, of course, not manufactured), etc.

Also: I cannot underestimate the weariness that many people are feeling about the state of our world, especially the U.S., and how adding something additional to your life when you are already overwhelmed by this rough awful period.

It's literally my job to listen and have empathy for others 😻

I’m not sure how to answer that question, but I was always taught that giving back was it’s own reward. I’m currently on the Board for AIDSWalk of OKC. I do this because it’s important to me.

Maybe the young people will be encouraged by hearing our stories about helping others, and will engage.

Amazing. My husband and I have been involved with the AIDS/LifeCycle, a 545-mile ride between San Francisco and Los Angeles for quite a few years. We both lost someone close to us in those early years and think about them often when we volunteer.
