Civility has its virtues, BUT civility does not = true peace

Kindness matters, BUT kindness does not = justice

Be careful not to try to substitute civility and kindness for true peace and justice

Or to try to hinder true peace and justice with calls for civility and kindness.

I feel like civility and kindness have the same stabilizing impact as following norms. They can sometimes be positive, but when they put a pretty veneer on inequity, they protect and preserve injustice.

Perfectly said! People need to HEAR this and understand it. Thank you for saying these words so clearly. The fight continues.
