A few of us were trying to start a splashtag where our community would share arts and crafts of any kind; painting, crochet, knitting, quilts, jewelry, woodworking, etc. Going to post a dresser tray I made experimenting with glass. It feels a bit odd if not a lot of folks participate

Another Shibori scarf that I gifted to my first silk dyeing teacher. She told me that none of her students over many years had ever given her a gift, so I was glad that it occurred to me to share this with her.

What a beautiful silk scarf and such a kind gesture to gift it to your silk dyeing teacher. I never realized you could dye silk on your own. It must take a lot of skill and patience.

Shibori does not take patience as much as trust in the process. You wrap up the silk around a tube or pole and just hope and believe that it will turn out in a way that you like. It's a very doable process at home. If you have the space, but you do have to have an area you can make a mess in.

Interesting technique. I'll have to look into it. Thanks for sharing.
