I believe in the future, science will develop a drug to help with sadness. Not depression, sadness. I ask. Your Mom dies, do you take it 15 mins later, a month, a year? Do you take it before she dies so your indifferent. Would you take it or would you live the experience without delay?

Grieving is an important part of coping with loss. When my nephew died, my sister took Valium at first but stopped because it just made her numb; it stopped her from experiencing his loss and what his death meant. It was like his life was being erased because she couldn’t feel anything.
