Spoutible users' private data will never be shared with 3rd parties. Spouts are public, and anyone can have access to that data. Our search would be based on spout data; not personal data.
Thunderschnozzle @Thunderschnozzle
Regarding this machine learning / AI feature, are you talking about using some 3rd party AI like chatGPT? If yes, what would be Spoutible's policy vis-à-vis protecting it's user base from having their data harvested aggressively?

With all due respect sir, Spoutible's Terms of Use say otherwise.

"you grant us the right and license to use, modify, display and distribute such Content by and through the Spoutible Platform and make it available to others, who may also use such Content subject to these Terms and Conditions."

This seems to apply to user content, ie. spout posts, which @cbouzy says is public data. Not private user data.

There's nothing in the Terms of Use that states they won't sell data or content, and no way to opt out of data being sold. The TOU specifically states that any content users post is owned by Spoutible.

Posts, yes. That's different from private, personal user data. Nowhere in your quote of the Terms of Service does it state that private data is subject to sharing or being sold. If you're making a point that those protections for private data should be explicit in the Terms of Service, sure.

Not having a policy in the TOS about sharing users' personal data is a policy in itself. Any data that Spoutible collects is fair game and can/will be sold until they publish a policy on it.

CB linked you to the policy but in case you missed it:

Thanks, Mary. It wasn't in the TOS which is why I posed the question.

I'm asking because I honestly don't know the answer: is there *any* social media platform that explicitly has an opt-out concerning the sharing of all personal data that you want Spoutible to have? Because it there was one, you could have a stronger argument to present to @cbouzy .

If you could say to @cbouzy "hey, so-and-so's app has an opt-out for sharing personal marketing data and you don't" it would go a long way to be persuasive.
