Just a reminder that Black history did not begin in America.

The enslaved who were forcibly brought to this country were not illiterate peasants. They were blacksmiths, artisans, teachers, doctors, farmers, etc.

They ALREADY possessed skills which the enslavers took full advantage of.

The book, Born in Blackness by Howard French is an amazing chronicle of Africa, Africans and the making of the modern world 1471 to WWII. A must read page turner!
