Mr. Mitchell froze to death in a Walker County, Alabama jail. His body temp got down to 72 degrees. The AG who should be looking into this suggests Mitchell was "posturing" when his frozen body was moved. No ambulances. https://www.cbs42.com/regi...

Given the overall level of corruption, disregard, indifference, and/or incompetence shown by Alabama officials, this case should be handled by the Dept. of Justice.

Watched the CBS clip. Horrified by the anchor as well. Her language suggests she believes he was faking it. Then, moments later, she accurately reports his internal temp. Herein lies the problem: generations of us were taught to trust and respect the police without question.

Too many of us continue to do so, despite clear evidence that far too many in law enforcement are eager to f*** with people they don't like, and they know they can get away with it. I find it unconscionable that qualified immunity protects those who serve only to persecute others.

These officers need to be fired and charged. What a cruel thing to do to that man - freezing is a miserable way to die.

These are examples of psychological projection. The officers likely grew up in family systems where expressions of discomfort (at the least) were disbelieved (because *everyone* is manipulative), judged harshly, and shamed. And here we are.

So the police locked this man in a walk-in freezer until he froze to death. Then, instead of calling for an ambulance to take him to the hospital, they crammed his body into their police cruiser to transport him themselves. Prosecute them all.

This has had me *fuming* since I first read about it yesterday. The unmitigated sadism of the jail wardens is breathtaking, and they should be prosecuted. There aretimes are times when I think 'an eye for an eye' is the only applicable punishment. 😡

Isn't the whole saying, "One bad apple spoils the lot"? So if one apple is bad, they all are, which kinda fits, doesn't it?

JFC his legs were literally frozen in that position. I don't think even normal rigor mortis would do that.

His body temp was 72 when he got to hospital. He wasn’t frozen. Body temp at 72 could cause brain damage. That could cause body to stiffen in that position. They meant to torture him. They forgot about him.
