For the past few months I've been doing a deep dive into transphobia, because that's the topic the fascists intend to use as their wedge issue. As transphobic pseudo-leftist commentator Cenk Uygur has noted, there IS one specific issue within this topic that progressivism actually does not win yet.

On the specific topic of trans women who went through male puberty playing elite women's sports, technically on that one thing we lose, right now.

Obviously, to actual progressives, that means we need to raise awareness and educate the public. Sell-outs have a different take.

When the fascists see an opportunity and go for it like this, it is our job to hold the line. Not say "What if we gave them this one thing? It's such a SMALL minority group we'd be selling out, what could it matter?"

Even if there were only one trans person on Earth, that person would have rights.

Anyone who has an inherent difference that means they need accommodations from society has a RIGHT to those accommodations. Since trans people are inherently transgender, and there is no valid reason governments should dictate gender, a right to transition exists.

So you might be thinking, well, the right to transition is set in stone, found by the highest human rights courts in the land, surely it's just the sports thing we're fighting about.

But no. The "Gender Critical" faith-based belief system is dedicated to abolishing the right to transition.

So, even if you don't know any transgender people, and it seems like a niche issue to you, if you enjoy having human rights that were upheld by the world's human rights courts, you have to stand up for trans people's right to transition, too.

GC is an attack on human rights as a concept.
